Due to exceptional workmanship, continuing to deliver each project ahead of schedule and most importantly delivering each project incident free. Metals and Plant Ltd were asked to undertake two large contracts collectively at Meadowhall shopping centre. The former La SENZA and Officers Club stores required extensive out of hours work to safely remove everything back to the block work shell to allow new stores to be formed. As usual the shopping centres over riding concerns were minimising disruption to shoppers in relation to dust (silica) / noise and in the removal of the large amount of redundant material which needed disposing of.
Each store required full soft furnishing strip outs, complex mechanical strip outs including roof top plant and asbestos contaminated duct work, shop front removal with some glazing panels in excess of 200kg each. Officers club also required a structural steel mezzanine floor with associated bespoke steel fabricated staircase removing. This as usual presented numerous safety concerns in particularly fire hazards but with Metals and Plant tried and tested specialist hot and cold cutting techniques, coupled with our experienced site engineers everything went without a hitch.
